Eclipse Season Is Here!
Can you feel it? Something is stirring. Eclipse Season has arrived, and it’s one of the most potent and supportive windows the cosmos offers us all year.
The first Eclipse Season of 2026 officially begins on February 17th with an Annular Solar Eclipse (a Ring of Fire) in Aquarius, and it ends two weeks later on March 3rd with a Total Lunar Eclipse (a Blood Moon) in Virgo.
If you’ve been feeling a restless energy lately, a quiet sense that something is ready to shift, or an inner knowing that you’re being called toward something bigger, you’re not imagining it.
You’re feeling the portal opening.
And here’s what makes this particular portal even more extraordinary:
The Universe Is Not Being Subtle Right Now
On February 17th, the same day as our Solar Eclipse in Aquarius, the Lunar New Year begins. We are entering the Year of the Fire Horse. The Horse in Chinese astrology represents vitality, speed, courage, and fierce independence. When you add the Fire element, all of that intensifies. Fire fuels the Horse’s drive. It’s bold. It’s passionate. It does not wait for permission.
And here’s what’s beautiful about this timing: the Fire Horse year begins on the exact same day that the cosmos deliver a Solar Eclipse inviting you to step more fully into who you are becoming.
The Lunar New Year culminates with the Lantern Festival on March 3rd. The same night as our Total Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Virgo. The festival of light meets the Eclipse of the Moon. The celebration of new beginnings meets the cosmic invitation to lovingly release what no longer serves you.
Kind of crazy, right?
The entire arc of this Lunar New Year season is bookended by Eclipses. An opening. A closing. A beginning and a release happening in the same breath. If that isn’t the universe showing you that you are held inside a bigger rhythm, I don’t know what is.
Let Me Break Down the Eclipses
As I always say: Eclipses are nothing to fear.
They are amplifiers. Think of them as Full and New Moons on crack. They can feel intense, but that intensity is purposeful. Eclipses accelerate what’s already trying to happen in your life. They bring things to the surface so you can see them, work with them, and move forward with more clarity.
They don’t always feel comfortable, and that’s okay. Growth rarely does. But discomfort and danger are not the same thing. Eclipses are not punishments. They are invitations. And when you can trust that, even just a little, Eclipse Season starts to feel less like chaos and more like cosmic choreography.
The Solar Eclipse in Aquarius (February 17th)
A Solar Eclipse is a supercharged New Moon. It’s a beginning. A seed planted in the dark.
And this seed is planted in Aquarius, an Air sign, which means it lives in the realm of the mind, of ideas, of communication and connection. But Aquarius isn’t casual about ideas. This is the sign of the visionary. The free thinker. The one who looks at how things have always been done and boldly asks why?
Aquarius is traditionally ruled by Saturn, the planet of structure, discipline, and karmic lessons. Saturn asks: What are you building? Is it real? Is it lasting? But Aquarius is also ruled by Uranus, the planet of breakthroughs, innovation, and liberation. Uranus asks: What wants to evolve so something truer can emerge?
When you put Saturn and Uranus together, you get this beautiful tension between what is and what could be. Between honoring the life you’ve built and having the courage to expand beyond it.
So when a Solar Eclipse lands in Aquarius, it’s asking you a really empowering question:
Where in your life are you ready to take up more space?
This isn’t the kind of New Moon where you journal about wanting to wake up earlier or drink more water. This Eclipse is an invitation to get honest about the ways you’ve been dimming yourself. The beliefs you’ve outgrown. The roles you’ve been playing out of habit rather than alignment. The version of you that exists because someone else needed or wanted it to.
Aquarius energy is about collective consciousness, radical authenticity, and liberation. And with the Fire Horse arriving the same day, there is an unmistakable energy of action underneath all of it. This isn’t just thinking about freedom. This is moving towards it without asking for permission.
The Lunar Eclipse in Virgo (March 3rd): The Blood Moon
Two weeks later, we have a Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo. A Blood Moon. And this is where the work deepens.
If the Solar Eclipse planted a seed, this Lunar Eclipse is gently clearing the ground so that seed has room to grow.
Lunar Eclipses are culminations. They support endings and completions. They bring feelings to the surface that are ready to be acknowledged, things you may have been carrying quietly, or patterns you didn’t realize were still running in the background. When the Earth’s shadow crosses the Moon, the universe creates a pause. A moment of stillness where you can finally see what’s being hidden in plain sight.
This pause happens in Virgo, my favorite of the Earth signs. If Aquarius lives in the mind and the collective, Virgo lives in the body and the details. Virgo is grounded, practical, and deeply devoted to being of service. It wants things to work. It wants to refine, improve, and organize.
Virgo is ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication, thought, and processing. Mercury governs how we make sense of the world, how we analyze, categorize, and interpret our experience. In Virgo, Mercury expresses itself through precision, discernment, and a deep desire to understand.
But Virgo’s shadowy energy wants to analyze everything to death. It wants to get it “right” before it gets it real. It can become hyper-critical, anxious, and stuck in loops of overthinking and self-judgment. The Full Moon in Virgo is opposing the Sun in Pisces (the dreamy, intuitive, faith-driven Water sign), and together, the Virgo-Pisces axis blend service and surrender. Practicality and faith. Control and trust.
Here’s what this Eclipse is lovingly inviting you to release: perfectionism, overthinking, harsh self-criticism, and the belief that you need to have it all figured out before you can move forward.
Read that again. Slowly.
This Virgo Full Moon is whispering: you’ve done enough preparing. You are enough, right now, as you are. Stop editing yourself. Stop waiting until you’re “ready.” You don’t need to be perfect. You need to be present.
And the fact that this Full Moon falls on the Lantern Festival, the night when lights are released into the sky to symbolize letting go and welcoming the new is the universe handing you a ritual on a silver platter.
Why These Two Eclipses Together Are So Powerful
Eclipse Seasons always come in pairs, and the relationship between the two Eclipses within a season tells a story. This story is one of stepping forward and softening your grip.
The Aquarius Solar Eclipse opens a door: Who am I becoming when I give myself permission to be fully me? The Virgo Lunar Eclipse widens it: What am I ready to release so I can actually get there?
We’re moving from Air to Earth. From the mind to the body. From the vision to the integration. One plants. One clears. Aquarius is about the future you can feel pulling you forward. Virgo is about the patterns, the stories, and the inner critic that have been standing between you and that version of yourself.
And underneath it all, the Fire Horse is running. Reminding you that this is not a year for hesitation. The Horse doesn’t tiptoe. It doesn’t second-guess. It moves with its whole body. And fire doesn’t ask if it’s allowed to burn.
Here’s what I want you to know about Eclipses: you don’t have to white-knuckle your way through them.
You don’t have to brace yourself. This isn’t about surviving. It’s about being present enough to receive what’s being offered.
You may have heard not to manifest during Eclipses.I deeply disagree with that.
Our thoughts and our actions are always part of the constant conversation we’re having with the universe, and that conversation IS the manifesting. We are always manifesting, and that does not and should not stop during Eclipse Season. Why would you NOT work with the most potent cosmic energy available?
But you have to be intentional. You have to be willing to sit with what comes up, to be honest with yourself, and to do the inner work that makes the outer shifts possible.
This is the difference between people who consciously work with Eclipse energy and people who just let it wash over them.
Here’s What I Know After Years of Guiding Thousands Of People Through Eclipse Seasons
Meditation alone will not shift you. Reading about the Eclipses won’t shift you.
Knowing the ruling planets and the elements is helpful (and I love that stuff, you know I do), but information without practice is just entertainment. And I don’t think you came here to be entertained.
What actually creates lasting transformation is when you touch all three levels of change:
Cognitive: the conversations that reframe how you think and see your life.
Subconscious: the meditations that rewire the patterns beneath the surface.
Energetic: the practices that move the emotions and energy you hold in your body.
When those three layers work together, things shift. Not just in theory. In your nervous system. In your relationships. In your sense of self. In your actual, daily, lived experience.
That is exactly what SHIFT with Jamie was designed to do.
This Eclipse Season, Don’t Just Read About It. Work With It.
SHIFT with Jamie, is a coaching membership. You get a weekly rhythm that meets you exactly where you are, with coaching, manifestation teachings, guided meditations, breathwork, energy reports, and monthly challenges that take you through whatever the cosmos are serving up. Every week starts with a Wisdom Drop and Energy Report that breaks down what’s happening energetically and astrologically, in a way that is grounded, practical, and actually useful. No mystical gymnastics. No spiritual bypassing. Just the real conversation your mind needs so your meditation practice can actually land.
And here’s the part that matters most: you’re not doing it alone. The SHIFT community is the kind of room where growth accelerates because it’s witnessed. Where dreams materialize because we share them. Where you are held without being rushed.
Eclipse Season is one of the most supportive windows of the year for real change. The Fire Horse is here. The Ring of Fire is blazing in Aquarius. The Blood Moon is illuminating your Virgo patterns with so much love. And the Lunar New Year is wrapping all of it in a container of transformation that the cosmos have been building toward.
Potent energy without direction is just noise.
