The World Meets You As You Leap

As humans, we crave certainty. We want to know where we are going and what will happen along the way. But very rarely is certainty easily identifiable. Our paths often look and feel like chaos and destruction. And on our journey, we have two options: to believe the fear that comes up and collapse into it, or to continue forward, get curious, and stay in trust.

Life - the universe - responds to us in motion. It responds to our full-bodied, undeniable commitment to what we trust is on the other side of the chaos. Which is to say: life responds to our actions, not our hesitations. The act of moving, of choosing, of stepping forward into the unknown is what opens the doors you never could have seen when you first started. And those doors usually open in the middle of a trust fall.

Because the world doesn’t meet you with proof before you leap. It meets you as you leap.

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the way the world works, and how when we are moving towards something, we often have to stand aside and let the universe do its work in the dark. And how difficult that is to actually do.

We want to know which step to take before we take it, and to know that the path we are walking is safe. We want to know that every choice we make will lead to the outcome we are searching for. When we don’t have circumstances that feel right or make sense to us, we hesitate. We resist. We wait. We analyze. We tell ourselves we’ll move when the timing is better, or when we have proof that the risk will be worth it.

You don’t need to know exactly where it’s all leading. You just need a direction, a pull, a North Star. That dream, that vision, that deep knowing inside of you, will not always materialize the way you wanted, but it will always transform you. It’s there to move you, to stretch you, to take you somewhere far bigger than your mind can conceive right now.

And this is where we often get in our own way. We forget that we can only ask for what we already know exists. But what if something far greater is waiting for us? What if the dream itself isn’t the final destination, but rather the doorway to something even more expansive? What if our need to control, to grip tightly onto a specific outcome, is actually keeping us small?

What if we learned to hold our vision while staying detached to what we think the journey and the outcome should be. What if we trusted that something bigger, better, and more incredible is waiting for us?

Because the truth is, there are possibilities beyond what we can see. There are paths unfolding that we could never plan for and synchronicities lining up in ways we could never predict. When we trust enough to let go of our attachment to how it all needs to unfold - when we allow ourselves to move with life instead of trying to force it - we create space for something far more extraordinary than we ever imagined.

So no, you don’t need certainty. You don’t need guarantees. You just need to start. To take the first step. To say yes before you know exactly how it will all work out.

Life isn’t waiting to give you permission. It’s waiting for your movement forward. And the moment you leap, you realize, the chaos and destruction you feared was never there at all.

WAYS TO WORK WITH ME

On April 9, I am teaming up with The Floss and The Ora Method for a Spring Renewal Workshop at Live The Process. It's been a very long time since I've done a live, in person, public event, and if you're in NYC, I'd love to see you there!
