When The Moon Turns Inward
The New Moon in Scorpio peaks on November 19 or 20 depending on where you are, inviting a deep pause, a turning inward, and an honest reckoning with the parts of ourselves we have been avoiding, carrying silently, or holding onto out of fear or habit. Scorpio energy, ruled by Pluto and Mars, is intense and transformative, and it calls us to feel fully, to witness what is hidden beneath the surface, and to honor both the endings and the beginnings that are quietly unfolding within our lives at this very moment.
This Moon asks us to sit with our emotions without judgment, to notice the stories we are still telling ourselves, and to pay attention to the energy we are carrying that no longer serves our growth or aligns with the version of ourselves we are becoming. It asks us to release with awareness rather than force, to recognize that transformation is not about perfection or control, but about presence, courage, and the willingness to meet ourselves honestly, even when it is uncomfortable.
This year, the New Moon falls on my birthday. It means that the energy of this Moon feels especially personal, a reminder that the process of shedding, surrendering, and rebirth is woven into the rhythm of my own life. It adds a layer of intention and alignment, as if the Universe is signaling for me to step fully into my power, to trust in my own timing, and to acknowledge that every ending has prepared the ground for the beginnings that are waiting to emerge.
It doesn’t need to be your birthday for this Moon to feel personal. It’s always personal. The more you drop into your practice, the more able you are to hear those messages. The more consistent your practice, the more discerning you are with those messages (because sometimes our ego gets in the way and crosses the wires of direction and desire). And the more discerning you are, the more willing you are to follow the messages you’ve received…which is how the magic happens.
Sagittarius Season begins on November 21/22, and after the emotional depth and excavation of Scorpio, this energy brings a sense of lift, curiosity, and renewed faith in what is possible. Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, encourages us to look outward after the inward work, to envision a horizon that feels expansive, to dream freely, and to take steps toward growth and alignment that feel authentic and inspired rather than forced. Where Scorpio asks us to dive into the shadow and clear our inner landscape, Sagittarius asks us to stand tall, breathe deeply, and trust in the possibility that the next chapter is already forming if we are willing to move toward it with open eyes and an open heart.
This cycle asks us to honor both stillness and movement, depth and freedom, endings and beginnings, as they are threads woven together into a single, flowing rhythm that guides us toward clarity, purpose, and renewal. Transformation is never a straight line. It is the soft, patient work of noticing, releasing, trusting, and stepping into what feels alive. Scorpio teaches us to honor the weight of what must fall away. Sagittarius teaches us to remember that life is always moving forward, that vision and faith follow naturally once we have made space for them, and that growth is always waiting on the other side of surrender.
