How To Keep Up During the Holidays (Journaling Inside)

Are you starting to feel anxious with the holiday season in full swing, worrying how you’ll balance all of the things you HAVE to do with all of the things you WANT to do?

It doesn’t matter what you have on your plate, all of it takes time.

And does it take time, it also takes energy.

Two things that are in short supply these days.

Last week in my group coaching program, SHIFT, we talked about how to end the year strong to start the new year powerfully, despite the holiday craziness, and I wanted to offer some tips with you.

Because they’re just too good to not share.

So here are some tips that to help you stay focused and keep your momentum going:

1. Ask yourself: how do you want to feel as the year ends?  How do you want to set yourself up so that you have a beautiful foundation going into 2023? Get clear and specific.

2. Keep it real: it can be problematic to set goals that are too small and it can be problematic if they are too big. If you fail at something that’s too much for you to actually do, you end up not believing you can do it. Your goal should be a little out of your comfort zone, but not too crazy.

3. Visualize what you want (your goal): sit and see it and write out actions that will take you there.  Then choose to do some of those every day.

4. Look ahead to see what might block you, and try to find a solution before that happens. Think about what things could get in your way, and plan around it.

5. Know your schedule: If there are days that will be harder to schedule in your earthly actions, make the decision to give yourself grace in advance. This way, you aren’t failing because you decided ahead of time.

6. Use meditation daily to “touch” your goal. Even if it’s just 3 minutes set aside to meditate and be present with your Future Self.

7. When you get overwhelmed, ask yourself: what’s one tiny thing you want to do differently everyday?  Pick a specific action. Let it be measurable so you can see the progress.

Instead of getting overwhelmed and throwing away your 2022 goals in exhaustion or defeat, set yourself up for success in 2023 by connecting with your why, your how and by planning for the obstacles that come up along the way.

We all hold onto stories and find ourselves in indecision, and a key part of overcoming that is knowing and holding your vision.

And while this time of year is when we experience overwhelm in its most amplified intensity, the truth it’s always there.

And the only way to not stumble and fall is to strengthen your focus and momentum, like a muscle, all year long.

The good news is I can help you with that. I offer you lots of free content all year long in my newsletters, on my IG and on my YouTube channel.

The better news is the doors to my group coaching program are about to open again (after a full year of being closed).

Because this work gets so much easier when you’re in a community that is committed to staying in the conversation of growth all year long.
