Releasing on this Full Moon [Playlist]

As always, a full moon is a great time of releasing. It is a time of closure and completion. The focus of tonight's full Moon in Aries, allows us to get the determination to move past our limitations and all that has been holding us back. We have the added support to release our limiting beliefs about ourselves so that we can tune in and be the version of ourselves that we know we are. In order to release it, you have to acknowledge it.

The full moons are opportunities for us to look within and see our “stuff”. They shed light on the areas that we have wanted to avoid, but when we do avoid them show up as blocks to all that we actually want. So for tonights ritual, let’s go inside and see what comes up.

The mantra that we will use is

You then connect with their powerful energies.  And then “sachee sahee”….you release it and let it go.  You know that your prayer is heard and it’s done.  This is the mantra of answered prayers, of moving beyond difficult situations, and gracefully letting go.” (Spiritvoyage.com)

I have created THIS PLAYLIST. As you listen to it, start to go inside. Allow yourself to get quiet so you can hear what is coming up for you. What is it that you want to release? What have you been holding onto that you no longer want to carry? Really allow yourself to feel what it is you need to release. As the mantra plays, feel yourself releasing it. Use the power of the prayer of the mantra to let it go.

When the next song plays, start to feel what it would be like if you were no longer holding onto that story… What could life feel like in that new energy? What would you do? What might you create? What could you call in and manifest? When you are ready, pull out your journal and write whatever came up for you.

The energy of the Full Moon is often thought of as shining a light on what is hidden within us. The stuff that is not on the surface. The light of the moon shines on all the things that we often don’t want to look at. During different phases of the Moon, different parts of our sub conscious beliefs are more present. We have more access to these “unseen” parts. We can use these times to work on clearing and unblocking the old limiting beliefs that are no longer serving us.

As I always say, I am not an astrologer, but I deeply feel the energy of the moon cycles. I look to get quiet during different phases and feel what is coming up for me during that times. So around phases like the New Moon, Full Moon or Eclipses, I do rituls and meditations that use the extra energy of the sky during these powerful times. And, lets be honest, you have most likely already started to feel the intensity of our planetary party going on.

With all of this powerful energy in the sky, let’s use it to help let go of what ever it is that is no longer serving us. Take some time to do the following meditation, so that you can fully release what you no longer need.

When you are finished,  pull out your journal and acknowledge the things that came up for you.  Writing out and saying out loud that you are ready to release each thing that came up. Take your time, feeling and releasing what you are tired of carrying around with you. Get clear. This is also a good time to clear your crystals, if you feel called to. You can do with Palo Santo, Sage, Sound, Dirt, Water etc... As I always say, I am not an astrologist, but I deeply feel the energy of the moon cycles. The Full Moon in Aquarius is about community and the collective. We can often get tied into what everyone else thinks, and wants and lose track of what our inner voice is saying. The truth is, if we can show up for ourselves, it allows others to do the same. In doing that, we all can tap into our own authentic magic and create the world we want to live in. When you are in your magic, you can have the larger positive effect on those around you.

Kundalini Yoga Meditation: Dealing with Your Own Mind

Posture:Sit in Easy Pose with a straight spine.

Breath: Close off your right nostril with your right thumb and inhale deeply through your left nostril. Exhale completely through your mouth.

Time: Continue for 6 minutes.

To End: Inhale deeply, interlace your fingers and stretch them over your head palms up. Hold your breath for 10-15 seconds while you stretch your spine upward. Exhale and relax.

Mind is a link between Infinity and you. When the soul got the body, the soul asked God, 'What is my link with you, my Lord?' And God said, 'Mind.'

Mind can take you into any thought, beyond thought, and unto Infinity. Mind can take you into any dungeon, any pit, and any negativity. Mind has no limit in its own self. But mind is your servant. If the mind becomes your master, you don't have a chance. It is very essential in yoga that we know our own mind.

Now you will ask me if a mind can be controlled. Yes. Not only can your mind be controlled, your life can be controlled. A situation can be controlled. Sometimes you get into very, very, very ugly situations. If you have the practice to switch your breath to the left nostril, you will get out of it in two seconds. The moment you start breathing with your left nostril, your elementary self will come into play. The moment your elementary self comes into play, your totality of the mind becomes one unit to confirm and it puts out the radiance shield of your body and you will immediately become very pleasant and positive rather than angry and reactive.

Some people train themselves to breathe through any nostril they choose. But many of you have not practiced that, and therefore you use your hand to close your right nostril. Long, deep breathing through the left nostril is good for the heart and good for the health. It will calm you down.

Normally after you have done this exercise for two minutes you will start feeling bored. Negative mind is in action: 'What are you doing this for? This is a babyish thing. We could have done something better.' In any exercise which touches the mind, a person starts getting upset in exactly two and half minutes. That's the rule of thumb. The mind doesn't want to be caught. It wants to swing. But there are some people like us who feel that it's hard work to control the mind, and once we control the mind, then we can control the whole world.

Meditation for Clarity [Audio File]

As many of you you know, I am a big fan of rituals. Taking these moments to get intentional with my life help me to create a life filled with the things I want, instead of repeating old things I don’t. The following meditation is great for the begining of the month, new moons, and birthdays…Basically, it is a great intention setting meditation…

During these times of creation, I make sure to take extra time to get quiet and set some goals for myself. I find that I can get a lot of answers to what I want and what I need to do when I get curious during meditation. The answers i receive during these mediations, lead me to aligned actions. They help me take steps that feel in flow, rather than forced.

I recorded a guided mediation, that I listen to often, (I know it is a little weird that I listen to myself), but I find that it helps put me in the direction I want to go. This particular meditation is working with your future self, the version of you that you want for yourself. We are often trying to manifest a certain life, but our old patterns keep us trapped and repeating our old frustrations and we can feel as if we are never getting anywhere.. You can change that!

We are often acting from our old patterning, and from our habits. When we actively use our imagination to change the pattern, after time, a new habit can be formed. I have found that consistently going into meditation with the version of myself that I know I can be, is one of the quickest ways to create the new pattern and experience the changed me.

I wanted to share it with you and I hope it gives you the clarity and inspiration it gives me. Enjoy!

Clarity is the most important thing. I can compare clarity to pruning in gardening. You know, you need to be clear. If you are not clear, nothing is going to happen. You have to be clear. Then you have to be confident about your vision. And after that, you just have to put a lot of work in.

Emotions Running Deep [Audio + Playlist]

I almost didn’t post anything today. To be honest, I have been in a funk. For the last few days I have felt a heaviness inside of myself, a questioning of things, old thoughts peaking their head. It’s been uncomfortable to say the very least. While I am not one to dwell in my feelings (anymore), I know I have to honor them and allow myself to actually feel it. .

If you have been reading any of the astrology reports, then you know that a New Moon in Pisces is a time of deep healing and of feeling emotional. For someone who rarely cries, I have shed more in the past few days then I have in months. And as I sit is that strong discomfort, I can feel the heaviness slowlly lifting.

I have found for me, that when I get curious as to why I am feeling a certain way I am able to unwrap it and learn from it. When the feelings of sadness, doubt or fear come in, I sit with them and lean in to hear what my body and emotions are trying to tell me.

 With this New Moon in Pisces, and Mercury in Retrograde, it is a perfect time to slow down, reflect, go inward.   This month with New Moon in Pisces, we can focus on healing. It is time for us to look inside and see what we have been avoiding, bringing it to the surface, and then letting it go.

RITUAL

So, for this new moon, I invite you to take some time and get quiet. Find an area that feels sacred to you. Get out your journal, incense and cleanser of choice, I will be using Palo Santo.  And, for this Ritual, I will be focusing on my Amethyst and Selenite Crystals, as they both have such healing and clearing powers.

As you listen to the recording above, I will take you through some of the prompts below.

Have your journal, crystals and what ever you are using to clear near by.

 Just sit quiet or lie down and breathe. Go in. Just let it out. Write it out, what has been coming up for you, what have you feel trying to bury inside. Give yourself permission to feel the pain, and know that is ok. Those things that have been whispering in your ear, release them on the paper. 

When you're finished, read it out loud telling yourself that it is ok to feel this way.  You are ready to heal it, and you know that means you have to see it and feel it first. Saying it aloud helps to take away the shame of keeping the pain unspoken and hidden. As you are reading your words, try to step outside yourself and see the lessons that that pain has brought you.  Look for the opportunities of learning and growth. 

When you feel ready, take your palo santo or sage, and start swirling the smoke around yourself and then your crystals. Really feeling the clearing that the smoke creates. Really feel yourself releasing the guilt, the shame and the pain. Then, place your crystals outside or by a window for a minimum of 24 hours.  

As far as the entry, I will be keeping it. I am finding the more I look back and reflect, the more I learn. Do what feels intuitive for you, burn it, throw it down the toilet, keep it etc...

Full Moon in Virgo [Journal Prompt + Playlist]

The Full Moon is the perfect time for reflection.   Go in and go in deep...Release.

As always, a full moon in a great time of releasing. It is a time of closure and completion. This particular full moon is in Virgo. “Virgo rules the sixth house, which is related to details, work, routines, and structure. Virgo is also the Mutable sign of the Earth signs, and thus very grounded, flexible, an all-around good kind of friend, brother, sister, lover, employee, or anything really. Virgo is the one you are calling when your tire is flat. Virgo loves to help out with the little responsible details of life. A Virgo Full Moon is going to bring details and routines and structures and schedules and work to a point of completion or fulfillment.” (https://astrologyanswers.com)

With the productive energy you have with Virgo, it is also a good time to get stuff done. You have the added support of focus and dedication to details. Often when we are trying to start something new, we allow the overthinking to stop us. I know that happens to me. This is the perfection of Virgo holding us back. Let’s take this opportunity to look at where we have been overthinking and release it with this full moon. It is a super moon as well, which means the light will be shining even brighter on the things you might have been trying to ignore.

I for one am already feeling the pull of this full moon. I am finding it difficult to sleep, as I am filled with energy and excitement for the things I have been thinking about, but haven’t yet put the peddle to the metal. I am going to take advantage of this special full moon to create the things I have been thinking about, but have been overthinking about and therefore haven’t started yet.

Full Moon Ritual

I'm going to start by creating a sacred space.  For me, that is by my Altar, with all my crystals, which many of you might have already seen on this Instagram Post .  I will light incense and a candle and  play:

It is a very powerful mantra used for protection, to gain clarity, and to receive guidance from one’s highest Self. This mantra creates a protective field of energy around the person chanting, attracting abundance to them helping them live out their destiny.  

“When you cannot be protected, this mantra shall protect you. When things stop, and won’t move, this makes them move in your direction." Yogi Bhajan

 Listen to the song above,  and almost like a meditation, journal out all of your feelings, … The Full moon is when things are illuminated and you can see the patterns you are repeating. The things that are repetitively holding you back from creating all that you want.

Your crystals and a candle should be out while you are doing all of this.  Then when you are ready, take each crystal and sage it  Let the smoke move all around it. While you are saging, tap into the feeling of how good it will be to let these old stories go.  How great would it be to not have to carry that old pain around with you.  Feel yourself letting go of the things that are no longer serving you. When you are done, place your crystals outside, if possible under the moonlight.  If not, then by a window…

When you are done, start saging yourself.  Start at your feet and swirl in the smoke of the sage.  Releasing it all.  Possibly saying out loud to yourself: 

I am releasing my habits of the past, I am releasing my patterns of the past, I am releasing my overthinking. Repeating it slowly and feeling yourself release as you let the smoke cover your energy.  End at the crown , above the head.

You’re transforming old patterns of your mind and letting go of thoughts you don’t need to have around any longer.

Now, some people will burn the journal entry, some will rip it up and soak it in water, some people flush it, and some people keep it.  Do what feels best for you...I will be burning mine(be very careful if you choose this one)...

I like to let my crystals  sit out for a minimum of 24 hours…When you take them back in, they will have the power of you letting go.  They will have released what you put into them.  

Above, is just what I do, but feel free to tweak it and make it your own.  Tap into what feels good for you. 

Please note, the energy of the full moon is not just on the actual full moon, so if you can't do it tonight, don't you fret, you have 3 days before and after...

There sky is so intense right now, I’ve been finding it difficult to even process what is happening and really understanding what this Lunar Eclipse, Full Moon in Leo was all about. For myself, I realized I needed to break it down into smaller parts, as a lot of the reports I was reading were feeling overwhelming. I almost wasn’t going to put out a ritual, as I felt overwhelmed by it all. So I tried to simplify it all, and find what resonated with me. I am not an astrologer, and so it is my take on what I understand and what I am feeling.

What technically is a Supermoon, Blood Moon and Lunar Eclipse and what are the effects?

“Lunar eclipses can occur only during a full moon, and this one is extra special because it's also a supermoon. A supermoon occurs when the moon is full and closest to Earth in orbit. The moon will be in perfect alignment with the sun and Earth, with the moon on the opposite side of the Earth from the sun. 

Earth will cast two shadows on the moon during the eclipse. The penumbra is the partial outer shadow, and the umbra is the full, dark shadow.

When the full moon moves into Earth's shadow, it will darken, but it won't disappear. Sunlight passing through Earth's atmosphere will light the moon in a dramatic fashion, turning it red.” Taken from this article at CNN

Why does it matter that Moon is in Leo, and the Sun is entering Aquarius?

Leo, is a sign often associated with creativity, courage, and passion. It is also a sign that wants to fit in and often thinks of themselves and looses sight of the larger collective. Aquarius is a sign associated with being progressive, original, independent and inventive. Very connected to bigger picture and the outside world, wanting everyone to rise.

How are we effected by this Full Moon being so connected to Uranus?

Uranus is the planet of change and transformation. It can be quick and unexpected changes and opportunities.

Ok, so what does all of this mean?

As I have writen before the Full Moon, ( This one being even more intense due to all of the above), brings light on the things we sometimes don’t see, often the things we are trying to keep hidden. Many refer to this as our shadow. While this can be incredibly emotional, it is also a time of great release. When we don’t pay attention to our shadow and don’t become friends with it, it actually becomes more powerful in blocking us from the things we truly want. The Full Moon is a beautiful time to get quiet, to get honest with yourself…Allow the light to show you the things you have been trying to hide from. From there, you can learn to integrate them and therefore loosen their powerful hold over you.

It is a time to look at what we are doing for ourselves? What are we doing for others? What are our dreams? How are we showing up for ourelves? How are we showing up for others? And as the light shines, what are your beliefs that are holding you back? Where are you not taking action to go after what you want for yourself? Where are you focusing on yourself too much and not thinking of others? How can you show up better for yourself and others?

I made the following Meditation + Journaling prompts to help you take advantage of all the energies in the sky. Go some place quiet and private. Maybe light a candle, incense and dim the lights. Have a journal and a pen near by.

When you are finished,  pull out your journal and acknowledge the things that came up for you. You might want to reread the questions above. Writing out what you are ready to release, each thing that came up. Take your time, feeling and releasing what you are tired of carrying around with you. Get honest. Allow the energy of Uranus to change things up. Release whatever it is that is holding you back.

 Now it is time  to clear your crystals, which you can do with Palo Santo, Sage, Sound, dirt, water etc...If you use anything with smoke, you can swirl the smoke around each crystal as you say aloud what it is that you are ready to release. If you are using any of the other clearing tools, you can do the same thing. New Years' 40 Day Meditation to Learn the Lessons of the Past

The beginning of the year is a great time to reflect.  For me, today is about meditating and journaling. The start of the year is the perfect time to start a new habit. Yogi Bhajan says practicing every day for 40 days straight will break any negative habits that block you from the expansion possible through the kriya or mantra.

I am in love with Kirtan Kriya in general, and the Cross-Heart version is extra special. I find it to be incredibly clearing and peaceful.  This meditation works on The Negative Mind,  The Negative Mind is there to protect us, but when it is too loud, it can stop us from moving forward and taking action.  When The Negative Mind is too quiet, we can find ourselves repeating mistakes of the past.  This is a great meditation for bringing The Negative Mind into balance.  You will be able to learn quickly from your past, and see new ways to clean it up and avoid repeating the same lessons.  I am going to add this meditation to my daily meditation for the next 40 days.  I invite you to do this along with me and let me know how it goes!

I will start by being in a sacred space, for me that is by my Altar.  Next, I  will light my candle and my incense and sit quiet for a Moment.  Then I will begin...

I created an audio file that will include tuning in, a quick basic spine series warm up and then 11 minutes of Cross Heart Kirtan Kriya, followed by 3 minutes of the Gong.  There will be music and I will be calling out all the cues.  You can listen to the audio below.

WARM UP-BASIC SPINE

  1. Quick WARM UP of Basic Spine Flex. Come into Easy Pose (a comfortable cross-legged sitting position). Inhale as you lift the chest up high and tilt the pelvis forward. Then exhale, round the lower back, and rock the pelvis back. Remember to lift the chest up high on each inhale and keep the chin level to the ground in both positions.

  2. This is good to lubricate the spine, and move the energy. It adjusts the spine, strengthens the nervous and reproductive systems, and brings the emotions into balance. It is not part of the meditation, but beneficial to warm up the spine.

Posture: Sit in easy pose with a straight spine. Cross the forearms below the wrist and place them in front of the chest. Arms should be out slightly and angled a bit up towards the chest.

Eye Focus: Look down to the tip of your nose.

Mantra: Sa - Infinity Ta - Life Na - Death, Transformation Ma - Birth

Process: 

Chant “Sa Ta Na Ma” out loud and press the corresponding fingers to your thumb on each syllable. 

Sa - Press thumb and index finger (brings knowledge) 

Ta - Press thumb and middle finger (brings wisdom and patience) 

Na - Press thumb and ring finger (brings vitality) 

Ma - Press thumb and pinkie finger (brings enhanced communication)

JOURNALING

After you finish the meditation, I invite you to put on THIS PLAYLIST  As you listen, reflect upon 2018. What were some of the lessons you learned from things that might have turned out differently than you had wanted. When were there times that you had wished you could have reacted differently. And continue to go through all the things that no longer serve you from 2018 and then spend the remainder thinking about all that you want to call in to replace those habits, people, thoughts, beliefs, etc…. Get as detailed as you can as you write all of this out. After that, start to think and write about what are some of the things that you could do starting today to move closer to what you want to call in. Get clear and specific. Take your time…
